Community Guidelines

Wateeno is built on respect, creativity, and positive interactions. These guidelines help ensure our community remains a welcoming space for everyone.

Be Respectful

• Treat others with kindness and respect
• Celebrate diversity and different perspectives
• Disagree constructively without personal attacks
• Respect others' privacy and boundaries

Create Authentic Content

• Share original content or give proper credit
• Be genuine and authentic in your interactions
• Don't impersonate others or spread misinformation
• Respect intellectual property and copyright

No Impersonation

• Do not create accounts that impersonate celebrities, public figures, or brands
• Usernames using celebrity names or protected identities are not allowed
• Fan accounts must be clearly labeled as "Fan Account" in the username or bio
• Parody accounts must be clearly labeled as "Parody" in the username or bio
• Accounts impersonating celebrities may be deleted without warning due to trademark and publicity rights
• This includes variations of celebrity names designed to deceive (e.g., adding numbers or underscores)
• Wateeno keeps a reserved-usernames list covering trademarks, public figures, and platform-system handles. If you're the rightful owner of a reserved name, email support@wateeno.com with proof of ownership — see the Support page for what to include.

Keep It Safe

• No harassment, bullying, or hate speech
• No violence, graphic content, or illegal activities
• Protect minors - no inappropriate content involving children
• Report content that violates these guidelines

No Spam or Scams

• Don't spam or share repetitive content
• No misleading links or phishing attempts
• Avoid excessive self-promotion
• No fake engagement or artificial inflation of metrics

Chats and Messaging

Wateeno chats let you send text, voice notes, photos, videos, and Rings to other users. Chats are ephemeral by design — see our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for the full retention rules. Ephemeral does not mean unaccountable: the same community standards apply in chat as in public Rings.

• No harassment, threats, or hate speech in direct messages — including voice notes and disappearing media.
• No unsolicited sexual content, nudity, or explicit material, including in disappearing photos and videos.
• No solicitation of minors. Any attempt to contact a minor inappropriately is grounds for immediate permanent ban and may be reported to law enforcement.
• Don't use chat to spam, phish, or distribute scam links.
• Recording or screenshotting another user's chat media without consent may violate their privacy and local laws. Wateeno notifies the sender when a screenshot is detected on supported devices.
• Use the Block tool to stop someone from messaging you, or Restrict to limit their access without notifying them. Both are available from a user's profile menu.
• You can report a problematic chat or sender from the conversation menu — the report goes to Wateeno's moderation team along with the relevant context.

Prohibited Content

• Nudity or sexually explicit content
• Violence or graphic imagery
• Illegal activities or dangerous behavior
• Hate speech or discriminatory content
• Self-harm or suicide-related content
• Sale of regulated goods (drugs, weapons, etc.)

Consequences

Violations of these guidelines may result in:

• Content removal
• Temporary account suspension (1-30 days)
• Permanent account termination for severe or repeated violations
• Legal action in cases involving illegal content

Note: Accounts posting graphic violence or illegal activities will be immediately terminated without warning.

Reporting Issues

If you see content that violates these guidelines:

• Tap the menu option (⋯) under the ring
• Select "Report"
• Choose the specific type of violation
• Or email us at support@wateeno.com
