Support & Help
We're Here to Help
Need assistance? We're here to support you every step of the way.
Common Questions
- How do I create an account? Download the app and follow the simple sign-up process.
- How do I create rings? Tap the camera icon, select your media, and share!
- Can I edit or delete rings? Yes, tap the menu option (⋯) on your ring for options.
- How do I report inappropriate content? Tap the menu option (⋯) under any ring, select "Report", then choose the type of violation.
Chats and Messaging
- How do I send a message? Open another user's profile and tap the chat icon, or
open the Chats tab and start a new conversation. You can send text, voice notes, photos, videos, or
Rings.
- Why did my message disappear? Wateeno chats are ephemeral. Text messages and voice
notes are deleted 24 hours after they're sent or first played; photos and videos are deleted as soon
as the recipient has viewed them; shared Rings disappear from the conversation 24 hours after they
were sent. See the Privacy Policy for the full retention rules.
- Can I unsend a message? Yes — long-press your own message and choose Unsend. This
permanently deletes the message and any attached media for both sides of the conversation. Unsend
cannot be reversed.
- Why can't I message someone? The recipient may have blocked you, restricted their
inbox, or deactivated their account. There is no in-app notification telling you which is the case
— that's intentional, to protect the recipient's privacy.
- How do I block or restrict a user? Open their profile, tap the menu option (⋯),
and choose Block (stops all interaction and removes follows on both sides) or Restrict (limits their
access without notifying them).
- How do I report a problematic chat? Open the conversation menu and choose Report.
Wateeno's moderation team will review the report along with relevant context. Please do not delete
the conversation before reporting — moderators may need to see it.
- Did you read my message? Read receipts are shown to the sender once the recipient
has opened the message. Voice notes and disappearing media also show a one-time view indicator.
Claiming a Reserved Username
If you tried to sign up or change your username and saw a message that the handle is reserved,
it means the username is on Wateeno's protected list — typically a trademark, a public figure's name, or a
platform-system handle. Reserved usernames are blocked from regular signup so they remain available for the
rightful owner.
If you are the legitimate owner of the name and want to claim it, email
support@wateeno.com from the
address you'd like to verify with, and include:
- The username you'd like to claim
- Your relationship to the name (rights-holder, brand representative, the public figure themselves)
- Proof of ownership — for example, a trademark registration number, a business registration document, or
a screenshot of a verified social account that uses the same handle and is signed in to the same email
you're contacting us from
We typically review claims within a few business days. If your claim is approved we'll either assign the
handle directly to your Wateeno account, or hold it for you so you can sign up and pick it within 14 days.
If a current user is squatting on the handle, they will be renamed and notified that their previous username
violated our Terms of Use.
